After a hectic autumn season at the end of 2011, Hawk hit 2012 running with the prestigious Oxford Farming Conference. Held on the first week of the new year, the conference sets the agenda for the farming industry for the coming year with keynote speeches by the likes of Rt Hon Caroline Spelman MP, Secretary of State for Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and CEO of McCain Foods Nick Vermont.
Hawk were responsible for the full technical production of the conference, with stage set design and build, extensive ground support rigging, sound re-enforcement, lighting and projection. The event had its challenges with a T-shaped conference room and space at an absolute premium. The event was actually rigged before Christmas by the Hawk team and left for two weeks in situ whilst the Oxford Examination Halls were closed over the Christmas period!
The event was filmed by a team of three Hawk cameramen, with the footage being captured and streamed with PowerPoint slides for the OFC website, with live camera, audio and PowerPoint feeds being sent downstairs to press rooms, overspill rooms and the Secretary office. The footage was also used by the BBC for their Countryfile programme.
Conference organiser Jane Craigie commented “I wanted to thank you and your team for all that you have done over the run up and duration of the Conference – your attention to detail and quality of service were faultless, calm and very professional. We look forward to working with you again through the coming year in the run up to 2013.”
